First Web Page

Now let us first start with a basic HTML web page. This is just to show you how HTML works and what we see in the browser when we open a HTML file.

<html>
<head>
<title> My First Web Page </title>
</head>
<body>

<p> Hello World! </p>

</body>
</html>

Now from the above example, the <html> is what starts an HTML web page and </html> is what ends it. <body> is the beginning of the body of the web page and </body> ends it. <h1> is used for the text heading “Hello World!” and </h1> ends it. So basically we get the idea of how HTML works now. You can try this out yourself and save the file with whatever name you want with the file extension .html or .htm whichever one you prefer. To open the file, you just need to open the file in a web browser to see the output.
