SQL SELECT Statement

The SQL SELECT statement is used to select data from a database. This is the most popular SQL statement and the one most commonly known even by newbie SQL learners.

SQL SELECT statements can be broken down into two namely the SELECT and SELECT * statements. The SELECT statement selects specific columns from a table and SELECT * selects all columns from a table.
